Lynn Interim Station & Ferry

Lynn Interim Station

Commuter Rail service returned on December 18th, 2023 in Lynn at the newly established interim station.

Riders traveling inbound can access the platform from the Ellis Street Parking Lot and riders traveling outbound can access the platform through a walkway beside the Lynn Senior Center on Friend Street. It is about an 8 minute walk from the Lynn MBTA Garage.

The pedestrian connection between the two platforms will use the existing sidewalks under the Silsbee Street Bridge. Each platform will be fully accessible with ramp access.

This is a Zone 2 Station.

The free shuttle bus from Lynn to Swampscott station will no longer be in service.

Lynn Ferry

The Lynn Ferry service was reinstated in 2023 as an MBTA service, intended as mitigation for the closure of Lynn's commuter rail station and the temporary closure of the Sumner Tunnel. The ferry goes to Longwharf.

Lynn Ferry weekday service will begin on Monday, March 31, 2025. Lynn Ferry weekend service will begin on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

A one-way fare on the Lynn Ferry is $7 (or $3.50 for Reduced Fare riders). Tickets can be purchased on the mTicket app or with cash on board. Commuter Boat or Commuter Rail Zone 2 (or higher) passes and M7 cards are also accepted. Complete schedules will be available soon at mbta.com/Ferry.
