Mayor Jared C. Nicholson is the 59th Mayor of the City of Lynn. He began his term in office on January 3, 2022 focused on delivering inclusive growth through better schools, better housing, better jobs, better infrastructure and more peace in the community.
Prior to being elected Mayor, Nicholson served three terms on the Lynn School Committee and was a law professor at Northeastern University, where he worked with and researched small businesses. Prior to becoming a law professor, Mayor Nicholson worked as a business lawyer for start-ups and as a legal services attorney in Lynn, providing free legal help to small businesses in support of community growth.
Mayor Nicholson is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and lives in Lynn with his wife and two sons.
