September 2024
September 17, 2024 -National Recovery Month
This month is dedicated to raising an understanding of addiction, reduce stigma, educating the public on prevention, recovery, and support, and acknowledging that the journey to recovery is nonlinear,
but a lifelong process.
With a strong supportive community, access to a variety of services, and empathy, recovery is possible. The City of Lynn has a variety of resources in the area spanning from services for youth prevention,
people in active use, contemplative stages of use,
recovery, and many different forms of treatment options.
The Lynn Public Health Division has resources in our Community Health Resource Room on substance use disorder, local services, and continue to provide free Narcan and Narcan training for any Lynn residents, community members, or businesses.

The Lynn Public Health Division hosted a National Recovery Month event where local organizations attended and provided resources to our community. A flag raising was held to remember those who are currently in recovery, experiencing substance use disorder, and those who have lost their lives to substance use disorder.
For those interested in receiving Narcan training, please contact our Substance Use Disorder Coordinator and Community Liaison, Candice McClory. Narcan and Narcan training is free of charge for all Lynn residents, community members, and businesses.
