Steering Committee

In early 2022, the King's Beach Steering Committee was assembled and tasked with evaluating six alternative approaches to alleviating the water quality issues at King's Beach proposed by Kleinfelder, an engineering consultant hired by the Town of Swampscott.

The steering committee consists of people representing the following stakeholders: the City of Lynn Mayor's Office, the Lynn Water & Sewer Commission, the Swampscott Town Administrator, the Swampscott Department of Public Works, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, the State Delegation, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay.

The steering committee is structured as a working group and meets regularly. In addition, members of the committee present frequently in public forums, such as during select board and city council meetings, the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission meetings, Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach meetings, and Conservation Commission meetings.
