Duties and Qualifications:
As directed by the ISD Coordinator, perform the following:

• Type all permits and correspondence relative to Inspectional Services, file and record permits as needed.
• Send monthly reports of New Buildings, and Alterations, Demolitions and Pool permits to Washington and Dodge reports.
• Number, tag and file all plans in Plan Vault. Record all new and alteration permits. Have knowledge of payroll records and record same.
• Type ISD correspondence, complaint letters, reports, etc.
• Answer telephone and attend to individuals seeking assistance or services in ISD.
• Take charge of clerical work, filing, bookkeeping, typing as required to obtain State and Federal Aid for school contraction and alterations on existing schools.
• Record cash receipts.
• Type advertising pertaining to ISD for newspapers.
• Type and file correspondence and keep records pertaining to Lodging Houses and all buildings rewiring a Certificate of Inspection.
• Responsible for turning in money to Treasurers Office for all money taken in by the department.
• Keep records and type reports of building permits and type and mail monthly reports of permits issued to Department of Labor and Statistics.
• Updating electronic ISD records.
• Tracking budget with regard to paying of bills and requisitions.
• Any and all other clerical tasks as needed.
• Assume responsibility in the absence of the ISD Coordinator.

Employee will perform all duties required of the Inspectional Services administration within the Head Clerk classification.

*Please note that the salary scale for this position is based on contractually negotiated rates between the City and AFSCME Local 193 for Fiscal Year 2025.
