Opioid Working Group Community Survey - A Chance to win $50 gift card to Market Basket!

In effort to expand our community engagement to a larger demographic, the Lynn Opioid Working Group will be raffling off two $50 Market Basket gift cards to any person who comes into the Community Health Resource Room during City Hall hours to fill out the Opioid Settlement Fund Survey!  Responses will remain anonymous.

The Opioid Settlement Fund survey was developed to collect input on how the incoming funds should be spent from people who live and/or work in Lynn. Winners will be drawn on June 7th and June 28th and notified by phone or email.

The Lynn Opioid Working Group created a survey to gain community input regarding the expenditures of the Municipal Abatement Funds recovered from the statewide opioid settlements which have been allocated to the City of Lynn to supplement and strengthen resources available to the Lynn community and families for substance use prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery. All ages are welcomed to fill out the survey.

In 2021, Massachusetts secured vital settlement funds from pharmaceutical companies, earmarked to address the opioid crisis and its repercussions. The Commonwealth is committed to allocating these resources to communities annually until 2038, with an anticipated total of $1 billion from settlements. Lynn will receive a minimum of 3.3 million over the next 15 years, including $826,012.06 for fiscal year 2023 and 2024 to date.
