Please be advised that Combined Sewer Overflows have occurred due to heavy rainfall at 8:10 AM, November 22, 2023 from the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission combined sewer system into surface waters of the Lynn Harbor. As of this notification, the CSO discharge is ongoing. The overflow consists, or likely consists, of untreated or partially treated sewage and waste. Avoid contact with these water bodies for 48 hours after the discharge or overflow ceases due to increased health risks from bacteria and other pollutants.

Combined Sewer Overflow – Notification Retraction
On November 8, 2023, 2:40 AM, it was reported that an overflow from the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission combined sewer system was discovered flowing into surface waters from the area of Lynn Harbor. As of this notification, the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission has determined that the overflow at this location did not meet the DEP criteria for a discharge impacting surface waters. This notification serves as a retraction of the previous public health warning regarding this discharge or overflow, and no preventative measures are recommended to the public at this time.
